Storytelling in the Classroom: A Digital Project with StoryJumper

Final Task – Inspired by StoryJumper

I really liked the StoryJumper activity from Teacher Laura’s blog because it was creative, well structured and very motivating for students. It helps students develop writing skills in a fun and meaningful way, combining imagination and digital tools.

My Final Classroom Activity: “Create your own digital story”

Based on this idea, I have designed a final activity for my own students.

Students in 2nd grade of Primary Education will work in groups of three to create their own short digital story using StoryJumper.

Each group will:

  • Plan a simple story with a beginning, middle and end
  • Write short and simple sentences in English
  • Choose characters, settings and illustrations
  • Create their digital book using StoryJumper
  • Present their story orally to the class

Learning Objectives

  • To develop basic writing skills in English
  • To use vocabulary in context
  • To organise ideas into a simple narrative
  • To encourage creativity and imagination
  • To improve digital competence
  • To promote teamwork and cooperation

Presentation

Students will present their digital stories to the class. All projects will be shared to encourage listening, speaking and peer learning.

Final Reflection

This type of activity is very useful for young learners because it combines creativity, language learning and digital tools. It increases motivation and helps students feel more confident when using English. It also promotes collaborative work and active participation in the classroom.
